A ride to an appointment. Prenatal care nearby. More options for behavioral healthcare. These are meaningful ways community support is helping patients at Coosa Valley Medical Center Foundation. 💙

Through the Alabama Rural Hospital Investment Program, the hospital invested in a nine-passenger transportation van, expanded hospitalist and primary care services, opened a women’s clinic and supported growth in adult and senior behavioral healthcare.

The van is already helping patients outside city limits reach services including cancer care, wound care and medical detox, while the women’s clinic helps preserve maternity and women’s healthcare locally.

Thank you to the donors helping more patients get the care they need, close to home!

Participants also heard updates on Alabama’s Rural Health Transformation Program and legislative priorities and connected with colleagues working toward the same goal: better care for Alabama communities.

Thank you to our speakers, attendees and event sponsors: the Alabama Public Health, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, Health Quality Innovators and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama. Your collaboration helps move quality care forward!

When someone you love needs care, having a hospital close to home matters.

Alabama’s rural hospitals care for families, respond to emergencies and help neighbors get the services they need in their own communities.

The Alabama Rural Hospital Investment Program offers a meaningful way to support that care, with a dollar-for-dollar Alabama state tax credit for qualifying contributions to eligible hospitals.

Feeling sick? Start with the right treatment. Antibiotics do not treat the viruses that cause colds, flu, COVID-19 or RSV. Ask your healthcare provider what can help you feel better and whether other treatment is needed. The right care starts with knowing what’s making you sick.

Community support is making a meaningful difference for families at Andalusia Health.

Thanks to local businesses, organizations and individual donors, along with funds distributed by AlaHA, the hospital received $341,040 through the Alabama Rural Hospital Investment Program in 2026.

Most of that funding helped install a new infant security system in the Birthing Center, adding protection for newborns and greater peace of mind for families and nurses.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this investment possible! Your support is strengthening maternity care close to home.

Advocating for Alabama hospitals in Washington and here at home.

Last month, AlaHA staff joined member hospitals in Washington for meetings with Alabama’s congressional delegation to discuss the impact of proposed changes to the 340B Drug Pricing Program on hospitals and the communities they serve.

Thank you to our delegation for hearing directly from Alabama hospitals, and to our members for sharing their experiences and advocating for the patients who depend on them.
