🚧 Infrastructure Improvements Underway in Towne Lake🚧
Street Maintenance crews are making progress repairing deteriorated retaining walls and damaged drainage pipes on Green Chase Circle. The project has involved lowering and retaining lake water levels, cleaning debris from drainage pipes, and preparing to construct new concrete headwalls. Once complete, the improved drainage system will return lake water to normal flow.

Beginning tomorrow, August 31, crews will start milling and paving ED Nixon Drive, followed by Rosa L. Parks Avenue in the weeks ahead.

There will be no full road closures, but please expect moving traffic control as work progresses one lane at a time.

Please be aware that traffic near Cleveland Avenue YMCA and Nixon Elementary School may experience delays while we make these important improvements to the community’s road infrastructure.

Thank you for your patience as we work to enhance safety and drivability in the area!

As we countdown to celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Montgomery Curb Market, tune in each month to learn more about the local farmers and vendors who made it special! 🤩

Our October Vendor Spotlight is the Bartles Family Farm. Established in the late 1800's and was passed down many generations.
Their farm primarily sells fresh local produce and homemade canned goods. During the summer, the fresh produce includes peas, butter beans, okra, tomatoes, peaches, watermelon, and cantaloupe. The rest of the year, the most popular items are apples, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, collard greens, turnip greens, and pecans. As for canned goods, they sell jellies, jams, preserves, relish, and various soups and stews.

Montgomery's got MOMENTUM! 🤩🏠

Mayor Steven Reed, Economic Development Director Frank Robinson, and Housing Director Reginald D. Marable visited the first site of the city's infill housing development on October 15, 2026. The project, located at Honeysuckle Drive in District 2, was developed by Capital City Development Group () a company formed by graduates of the Supporting Empowered Emerging Developers (SEED) Academy.

The city's Housing Infill Development Initiative, in partnership with Liberty Bank, provided gap financing for the project. This initiative aims to revitalize underused city-owned lots by constructing modern, attainable homes. The development features a standardized 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom model.

When public and private partners come together with a shared vision, we can create meaningful opportunities that benefit the entire city. This home will become part of the Dalriada community and serve as a model for future infill housing projects throughout Montgomery! The SEED Academy and the Housing Infill Development Initiative reflect Montgomery's commitment to fostering economic mobility, neighborhood revitalization, and sustainable development.
