Overnight Super Lab!!

From 16 October 2026 to 17 October 2026, cadets from Warhawk Company and Trojan Company came together for an overnight FTX!

At this super lab, cadets ran STX lanes consisting of Movement to Contact, Ambush, Raid, and Attack in an open field to go through a crawl phase to understand the concept of movements of tactics. Cadets also conducted an iteration of night land navigation. Cadets also had a class on Patrol Base Operations. The next day, cadets went through the medical lanes; restoring breathing, stopping bleeding, care under fire, and calling up for a 9 line medevac.

This was a great lab with great training. We cannot wait for our fall JFTX!

Come visit us at the ASU Career Fair from 1000-1300 today at the Acadome.

Intro to Tactics!!

On 2 October 2026, the cadets of Warhawk Company and Trojan Company came together at their respective schools to have their introduction to tactics! Cadets learned squad movements, establishing a patrol base, ambush, movement to contact, react to contact, raid, and attack.

This lab was meant to set the basis of platoon operations so cadets can apply these tactics in the field.

We are so proud of these cadets hard work!

Warhawk Company PT Session!!

Cadets completed a modified version of the Hero workout Severin, which honors Sergeant First Class Severin W. Summers III, a U.S. Army Special Forces Soldier. September is especially fitting because SFC Summers was born on September 9, 1965, and the Severin Hero workout was first published in September 2010 in his honor.

SFC Summers joined the Army in 1989 as an infantryman and later served with the Mississippi Army National Guard. He completed the Special Forces Qualification Course and went on to serve as an Engineer Sergeant with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group Airborne.

On August 2, 2009, while serving in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, SFC Summers was killed when his vehicle was struck by an IED. He was 43 years old.

The original Severin workout consists of 50 strict pull-ups, 100 hand-release push-ups, and a 5K run for time, traditionally completed wearing a 20-pound vest or body armor.

Cadets completed the same total workload as a team, just without the weighted vest. The 50 pull-ups, 100 hand-release push-ups, and full 5K distance will be divided as evenly as possible among everyone on the team. Every person is expected to contribute, and your team will not move on to the next event until the previous event is complete.

This was more than just another PT session. There is a Soldier’s name and story behind this workout. As cadets went through it, they worked hard, maintained the standard, supported their teammates, and remembered who they honored while completing the workout.

Overnight Super Lab!!

From 18 September to 19 September 2026, cadets from Warhawk Company and Trojan Company came together for their first overnight super lab of the semester.

At this lab, cadets completed the combat water survival test (CWST), day land navigation, night land navigation, and warrior skills. The warrior skills consisted of radios, facepaint, hand grenades, ruck packing, and building expedient shelters. This was a great learning opportunity for cadets, as well as a great opportunity for cadets to establish relations between the companies.

Cadets were also able to meet LTC Joseph, the new professor of military science for the battalion.

Also at this lab, 8 cadets (6 from AUM and 2 from Troy) contracted! Congratulations to Cadet Adams, Cadet Carmack, Cadet Hoover, Cadet Pierce, Cadet Sumbry, Cadet Strozier, Cadet Turner, and Cadet Velazquez.

We are so proud of their hard work at this lab and cannot wait for the next training event!

9/11 Remembrance 🇺🇸

On 10 September 2026, cadets from Army ROTC’s Trojan Company, Warhawk Company, Air Force ROTC, and other participants from around Troy, came together to stair climb 40 flights of stairs.

Individuals completed the 40 laps of flights of stairs to symbolize the equivalence of one World Trade Center and the amount of flights of stairs that first responders climbed to rescue individuals stuck inside the World Trade Center’s. It is important that we remember the travesty that 9/11 day was. The lives lost and the lives sacrificed.

We remember. We will never forget.

Range Day!!

On 4 September 2026, MS3 cadets qualified on the M4 running through zeroing, marksmanship fundamentals, and live fire under the guidance of cadre. Cadets were able to see how a zeroing and qualification process work, to become more comfortable on the range and with the M4. Range days like this build the confidence and discipline cadets carry with them to Advanced Camp and beyond.

Plenty more on the calendar this semester. Proud of the work our cadets are putting in.
