Did you miss this one?

A partnership between state and federal wildlife agencies, conservation organizations and private landowners is helping restore water quality and native mussel populations in the Paint Rock watershed.

In August, approximately 1,500 rare native mussels were released into the Paint Rock River in Jackson County on the property of Huntsville businessman and Alabama Conservation Advisory Board member Raymond Jones Jr.

The effort is part of ongoing restoration work in the watershed, including streambank restoration, barrier removal and the reintroduction of native mussels to help improve the health of the river.

Clean water takes mussels, read more about it👇
