This week, cadets hit the track for a track workout and a tempo run, and teamed up with the FSU ambassadors for a joint workout. Pushing the pace every rep!

At LLAB, Det 145 hosted a career fair where officers from a wide range of career fields came out to talk with cadets, answering questions and sharing what life looks like as an officer in the Air Force and Space Force.

U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Jason T. Hinds, commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa and NATO Allied Air Command, visited AFROTC Detachment 145.

A Florida State University and Detachment alumnus from the Class of 1996, Gen Hinds commissioned here before going on to fly the F-15C and F-22. He spoke with cadets and answered questions about leadership in today’s Air Force and the future of the force.

This week, cadets took on the Physical Fitness Assessment, pushing through push-ups, sit-ups, and the timed run on the track. Giving it their all in every section!

At LLAB, GMC cadets did flight drill evaluations, putting weeks of drill practice to the test. Meanwhile, POC cadets received a brief from Capt Davis on leadership and mentorship, further developing the skills necessary to become effective leaders and mentors.

Week 7 recap: Det 145 started the week with an early-morning track workout, followed by a sports psychology brief and activity at LLAB. We then welcomed Project Overwatch for a su***de awareness brief. GO NOLES!

Last week cadets simulated the fight for air superiority at PT. Icarus puts the objective on the field: suppress the other side and damage their ability to wage aerial warfare. Control the air, or lose it.

Take an inside look at Detachment 145’s Cadet Wing Staff. These cadets plan, lead, and execute training for the Wing, from PT and LLAB to standards, morale, and day-to-day operations.

This week, cadets pushed through a pyramid sprint workout mixed with calisthenics, then shifted into Icarus, a fast-paced air-superiority exercise that tests communication, decision-making, and teamwork under pressure.

Cadets also learned the precise procedures for reveille and retreat, then sharpened drill through repeated Flight Drill Evaluation reps. We closed the week by recognizing outstanding cadets who go above and beyond.
