Grabbed some books at the St. Jude's sale to top off the library! (The sale runs through Saturday at 2pm and is in the shed by Nick's Park.)

Free butternut squash plants — and books of course! 😊

**tomato plants are gone** Fresh stock and free tomato starts! (It's not too late! And if you don't have the space or the energy for a garden, these roma tomatoes have done great for us in 5-gallon buckets on a porch or patio.)

In happier news, thanks for this donation of picture books! 🤩 We'll do a library reset soon and get them out there! And share them around town to other Monticello Little Free Libraries. 😊

We've been dealing with this for five months. Ruining books with personal vendetta stickers is not a good way to communicate a grievance. Ruining books like these (for kids and older/vision-impaired readers, two of the hardest categories of books to source) certainly activates ire, but not in the intended direction. Our little free library is not connected to the person or business being protested. And the books in them are not a public bulletin board or Festivus pole.

For now, we're simply asking those of you who use our library appropriately (thank you!!) to help us remove these books as soon as you see them. Please put them on our porch so we can continue to document the vandalism before disposing of the ruined books.

Edited to add: Since we took the time to blur the message on these stickers, we thought it was obvious that we don't want our page used to broadcast the message, just like we don't want the books in the little free library defaced to do the same. Feel free to take up that discussion elsewhere, but we'll delete those comments here.
