Fact: the county cannot afford the care center. The best opportunity to keep the care center was to offload it to the private sector, and Cat Scott did everything she could to sabotage that chance.

This UNDERCUTS the explanation that the vote was simply to gauge interest.

Court documents now reveal SECRET EXECUTIVE SESSION VOTE TALLY:

The vote count was officially 5 - in favor, 3 - against, 1 - absent.

There was no "5-4" vote.

Results:

Luis Alvarez - in favor
Nicholas Salomone - in favor
Joe Perrello - in favor
Amanda Ward - in favor

Cat Scott - against
Matt McPhilips - against
Brian McPhillips - against

This DIRECTLY uncut Cat Scott's assertions of the vote count and CONFIRMS an official vote took place behind closed doors, away from the public.

On August 19, Cat Scott claimed Luis Alvarez voted no.

It is now confirmed that is not the case.

🚨Legislator Terry Blosser-Bernardo of District 9 speaks out on the Care Center Closure:

"I was absent on March 26, 2026 when the Legislators voted in Executive Session to close the Nursing Home because my mother was critically ill. She died on June 20, 2026.

With eight legislators present, the Care Center vote could not have been 5–4 - I was absent.

Yet no contemporaneous public record disclosed the motion or recorded each legislator’s vote.

This issue deserved a public discussion and public vote. It is bizarre to me that New York State Department of Health would order us to be silent about deciding whether or not to close a nursing home. I would really like to hear from the state that that is actually their position.

When you do things in secret, it’s never a good sign."
