The Monticello Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), Monticello Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and other assisting agencies recently worked together in a joint operation involving a closed package liquor store within the City of Monticello.
After it was discovered that an individual had broken into the closed establishment and began stealing inventory, agencies coordinated their efforts to secure the location and seize the remaining alcoholic beverage inventory.
This operation is a great example of what can be accomplished when local law enforcement agencies and regulatory officials work together toward a common goal.
As Monticello ABC Administrator, I want to personally thank the Monticello Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and all other agencies and personnel who assisted with this operation. Your professionalism, cooperation, and willingness to step up when needed do not go unnoticed.
Our responsibility goes beyond simply issuing alcohol licenses. It also includes ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, protecting the public, and making sure alcoholic beverages are handled and distributed in accordance with the law.
