Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!!!

Mrs. Meyers' second graders are getting into the Halloween spirit with Music Teacher Ms Correllus, and a spirited drum routine set to the classic Ghostbusters theme!

But there's more happening here than just some seasonal fun! Students are practicing rhythm, steady beat, percussion technique, coordination and movement as they perform repeating drum patterns that follow the structure of the music.

It takes concentration, teamwork and some serious coordination to keep the beat, and these young Sailors are rising to the challenge!

A fun way to bring music, movement and learning together, just in time for Halloween!

At Furnace Woods Elementary School, students are learning what it means to be SAILOR STRONG through the school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program.

Being SAILOR STRONG means being Safe, a Team-Player, Respectful, Organized, Neighborly, and showing Grit!

This month, the focus is on the "S" for Safe, with students practicing important safety habits while riding, boarding, and exiting school buses, as well as moving through school hallways.

In this video, Furnace Woods Principal Joshua Cohen gets a lot of help from some of our very own students, who demonstrate what safe behavior looks like and how everyone can do their part to keep our school community safe.

Great job, Sailors! Keep showing us what it means to be SAILOR STRONG!

When you think about the future of our district and our students, what matters most to you?

Through District Compass, we're developing our next five-year strategic plan, and your perspectives are an important part of that process.

We invite parents, staff, students, and community members to take the District Compass Community Survey and share their thoughts about our district's future.

The survey is open through Friday, November 6!

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we're highlighting a special evening from earlier this month, that reflects the diversity of our Hendrick Hudson community and the importance of building strong connections between our schools and families.

Our recent English as a New Language (ENL) Orientation Night welcomed families for an opportunity to learn more about the district's ENL program, meet staff, explore technology resources, and connect with community organizations offering valuable services, including free English language classes for adults at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library.

The evening also emphasized the important role parents and caregivers play in their children's education, and the many opportunities to become involved in our schools.

When families feel welcomed, informed, and connected, our students benefit, our schools grow stronger, and our entire community thrives.

Take a look at some highlights from this wonderful evening!

These students joined outstanding musicians from across the region for an inspiring musical experience, collaborating with their peers, working with accomplished guest conductors, and showcasing their dedication and hard work.

They were selected based on their 2026 NYSSMA scores and are ranked as some of the finest musicians in Westchester County. We are incredibly proud of our students for earning this honor and representing Hen Hud so well. Congratulations to all 17 musicians on this wonderful accomplishment!

What a day for Hendrick Hudson Cheerleading!

Both our JV and Varsity Cheerleading teams delivered outstanding performances at the WPDRCCA Championship, each earning third-place finishes in highly competitive divisions!

Our JV Sailors wrapped up their fall competition season by placing 3rd out of 8 teams, making history in their first-ever appearance in the Game Day Class B division! Competing against experienced programs, our JV athletes rose to the challenge and made Sailor history!

Varsity brought incredible energy and Sailor Pride to the mat, delivering their best performance of the season and earning 3rd place out of 11 teams in a division featuring some of the section's strongest programs. After a busy week of competitions, routine adjustments, and the prior evening's Senior Night celebration, these athletes gave it their all!

Both teams were called forward to receive trophies, with their coaches and an enthusiastic crowd of Sailor supporters cheering them on!

Congratulations to our athletes and coaching staff on an incredible championship showing, and thank you to the families, fans, and supporters who helped make the day so special!
