๐ฌ๐ข๐จ ๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ง: A $60,000 handbag was among the items snatched by a burglar who broke into a townhouse at the New York State line in Montvale this morning, an investigative source told Independent Online News.
Montvale Police Chief Douglas McDowell confirmed that a man wearing all-blue clothing and a face mask entered through a rear sliding kitchen door at the Alexa Townhomes on Spring Valley Road while carrying a box shortly before 9:30 a.m. today (Wed., Sept. 23rd).
An inventory of what was taken and the value hadnโt been completed, however, nor were there any other details that could be shared right now, the chief said.
It is known that forensic investigators from the Bergen County Sheriffโs Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence at the scene, residents were interviewed and security cameras checked.
A bulletin to area police departments was issued and the county prosecutorโs office also was notified.
๐๐ก๐ฌ๐ข๐ก๐ who might have seen something or has information that can help identify those responsible is asked to call Montvale police: ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ-๐ฏ๐ต๐ญ-๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ฌ.
The Alexa has 81 units in 11 multi-family buildings across 15 acres. The townhouses generally sell for $900,000 to nearly $1.5 million. There are also 18 affordable housing units.
