Department Spotlight: The Moody Senior Center

September is National Senior Center Month, making this month perfect to shine a light on one of our community's favorite gathering places!

Located at 670 Park Avenue (right behind City Hall), the Moody Senior Center provides fellowship, activities, and nutrition for citizens over sixty, giving our seniors a safe and welcoming place to gather and put their worries aside. Through their programs, meals, and network of friendship, the center helps bring independence and meaning back into the lives of those it serves.

The Moody Senior Center stays busy with activities like field trips, crafts, bingo, game days, line dancing on Tuesday, exercise on Wednesday, and monthly birthday parties — plus the center supports home-bound citizens through the meal delivery program. And thanks to a partnership with St. Clair Area Transportation, seniors can even ride free to and from the center with 24-hour notice.

If you or someone you love could use a place to connect, learn, and enjoy great company — the Moody Senior Center is open Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

📞 Call (205) 640-2536 to learn more!

Thank you to our Senior Center staff for the joy and care you bring to our community every single day. 💛
