Hello Moody!

This is a PSA from Waco-McLennan County OEM

BURN BAN LIFTED: The McLennan County Burn Ban has been lifted, effective 10/04/26.

Recent conditions have improved enough that residents may once again conduct outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of the county. Lifting the ban doesn't remove the need for caution, so please keep these in mind:

Check the weather before you light anything. Wind and dry vegetation can turn a small fire into a big one quickly.

Never leave a fire unattended, and keep water, a shovel, or a hose close by.

Follow state (TCEQ) outdoor burning rules and any local ordinances. Burning rules inside city limits can be stricter than in the county, so check with your city or fire department first.

Fully extinguish your fire before you leave it.

The burn ban can be reinstated if conditions turn dry again, so keep an eye on our page for updates.

If you see an out-of-control fire, call 911 right away.

If water is over the roadways, please remember, TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.
