🚒 Northern Battalion Training Night! 🚒
Tonight, members of Mooers Volunteer Fire Department joined our Northern Battalion brothers and sisters for a great training hosted by Altona Fire Department!
The focus of the evening was firefighter rehab best practices. We split into two groups and rotated through two stations. Altona's Chief gave a classroom presentation on rehab, while Champlain-Mooers EMS covered the importance of proper rest, hydration, cooling, and medical monitoring during extended operations. Taking care of our firefighters on scene is just as important as the work they're doing. Thank you to Altona's Chief and to Champlain-Mooers EMS for sharing their knowledge!
We also got familiar with Beekmantown's air truck, learning its capabilities and how it supports crews on the fireground when we call it in for mutual aid. Knowing what resources our neighbors bring to the table makes us all safer and more effective.
We had an outstanding turnout with 52 people in attendance! A huge thank you to Altona Fire Department for hosting and to everyone who came out to train.
