This past Friday, Poplar Springs Fire Department was able to put a team together and participate in the 9/11 Golf Tournament hosted by Tyger River Fire Department.

It was a great time of fellowship with everyone and a great way to come together as a fire service family while honoring and remembering those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Thank you to Tyger River Fire Department for hosting a great event and giving us the opportunity to come together and never forget. 🇺🇸

The Poplar Springs Fire Service Area would like to recognize the South Carolina V-SAFE (Volunteer Strategic Assistance and Fire Equipment) grant program. Poplar Springs was awarded $14,700 toward communications equipment. This funding allowed our department to purchase six Kenwood dual-band portable radios, enhancing interoperability and improving communication capabilities across multiple agencies and response environments.

Reliable communication is one of the most important tools our firefighters have on the scene of an emergency. These new radios will help ensure our personnel can communicate clearly and effectively while serving the citizens of the Poplar Springs community.
