Hardy County PSD will be conducting regular maintenance on the South Fork water system late tonight that could result in temporary interruptions of water service to customers on the South Fork water system tomorrow morning, Wednesday, September 2nd, between the hours of 3:30am and 5:30am. This maintenance work has been scheduled at this time in an effort to cause as little disruption as possible to customers.

All customers who may be affected, have been contacted by phone with this information. We appreciate your patience while we perform this necessary system maintenance.

BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED for PSD customers in Baker

Hardy County PSD is pleased to report that the boil water advisory issued on July 12, 2026 for PSD customers in the Baker area has been lifted. It is no longer necessary to boil your water prior to consumption.

This advisory was issued as a PRECAUTION following a water line leak. All PSD water customers in the area (whom we have an accurate phone number for) have been contacted by phone and informed the advisory has been lifted.

BOIL WATER NOTICE for PSD customers in Baker, WV

A major water line break at the mulch plant in Baker drained the water storge tank for the Baker community to empty on Sunday afternoon July 12, 2026. As a result, regulations require that a boil water advisory be issued to all customers on the Baker water system. All PSD customers in Baker area will need to boil water prior to consumption until further notice.

This water advisory is being issued as a PRECAUTION and will be lifted once testing has taken place to ensure the safety of your water. It is hoped that the boil water advisory can be lifted on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, once testing shows the water is safe for consumption.

All affected customers have been contacted by phone to inform of the boil water advisory and will again be contacted by phone when the advisory has been lifted.

The Hardy County PSD will close at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, July 2, 2026, and will remain closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Today we celebrated Gail's retirement from Hardy County PSD after 27 years of dedicated service. Her final day will be June 30th. Gail will be very missed by our staff and our customers. We wish her the very best in retirement. Thank you and congratulations, Gail!
