Happy Friends of Libraries Week! Lake Agassiz Regional Library is proud to be supported by a number of advocacy and support groups across our region, which fundraise and raise awareness in support of their local libraries.
Without further ado, special thanks to...
✨ Friends of the Breckenridge Public Library, who provided supplies, prizes, tools, refreshments and much more in support of the library's programming.
✨ Friends of the Crookston Public Library for their many fundraising efforts, including supporting new outdoor signage for the library (more coming soon!). The Friends also provide prizes, refreshments and support for programming, including the Summer Reading Program.
✨ Detroit Lakes Library Club for their many years of supporting library programming - since 1907!
✨ Detroit Lakes Library Foundation for their ongoing support of the Detroit Lakes Public Library, including their sponsorship of the Summer Reading Program in Detroit Lakes, support for the Detroit Lakes Library Book Bike and the fantastic updates to the library’s Once Upon a Child Sculpture.
✨Friends of the Moorhead Library for supporting the library during its first year in The Loop - the new home of the Moorhead Public Library. The Friends work tirelessly to raise money through book sales and their annual fundraising event, A Novel Evening. In addition to fundraising the Friends provide volunteers for library events throughout the year. The Friends of the Moorhead Library also received second place for this year's MN Association of Library Friends' annual Evy Nordley Award for Best Project for their 2026 Giving Hearts Day campaign and Jeanne Aske was honored as a Standout Friend.
We couldn’t achieve our mission of enriching lives and strengthening communities without the help of our Friends! If you’d like to join one of these impactful groups, please contact your local LARL library to get connected.
