In celebration of Head Start Awareness Month, we're sharing Chelsea's story and highlighting the impact Head Start has had on her career.

Over the past nine years, Chelsea has continued her education, earned her bachelor's degree, and grown from a classroom teacher into her current role as CAPLP's ERSEA/Transportation Manager. From a Head Start kid to a Head Start leader!

Hear Chelsea share what makes Head Start so special to her.

Fall colors, scenic back roads, and even a few buffalo sightings!

Our Aging and Transportation Advocate, Missy, took a group of participants on a beautiful fall outing Monday! The group traveled along the scenic back roads southeast of Rollag, taking in the changing leaves and sights of the season.

Sometimes the best adventures are right in our own backyard!

Winter is on its way, and the Hawley community is helping kids stay warm!

Thanks to the generosity of local community members and the Knights of Columbus from St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 35 children have already received winter gear through our REACH office in Hawley!

These donations help ensure children have the warm clothing they need to stay comfortable, safe, and ready for the colder months ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and helped make this possible!

Our Child Care Connections team had a fantastic time representing CAPLP at the Fargo Force's 701 Night on Friday! What a fun opportunity to connect with the community and share information about our programs and services.

Thank you to the Fargo Force for having us!

We're thrilled that our CAPLP crew was part of 701 Night at the Fargo Force hockey game on Friday, shining a light on the incredible services CAPLP offers. 701 Night celebrates the great state of North Dakota, and we were honored to be part of it!

Congratulations to our Head Start staff who have reached exciting educational milestones while working at CAPLP! 🎉

Did you know that Head Start supports not only the growth and development of children, but also the professional growth of its educators?

In celebration of Head Start Awareness Month, we're recognizing these incredible CAPLP Head Start and Early Head Start staff members who have earned their Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials while working at CAPLP!

And for some, the learning didn't stop there! One went on to earn an associate degree, another earned a bachelor's degree, and a third earned an associate degree and is currently working toward a bachelor's degree!

Earning these credentials takes hard work, dedication, and a commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education.

We're so proud of these individuals for continuing to learn, grow, and invest in their futures while helping the children and families we serve build brighter futures of their own.

Please join us in congratulating these amazing educators on their accomplishments!

A big thank you to Growing Together Community Gardens for donating an incredible 1,120 pounds of fresh produce to our Hawley food pantry this summer!

From tomatoes and cucumbers to squash, potatoes, carrots, and more, these donations helped provide fresh, nutritious food to individuals and families in our community.

We are so grateful to Growing Together and dedicated volunteers like Randy, pictured here, who helped deliver this produce throughout the summer.

Thank you for growing, giving, and making a difference in our community!

October is Head Start Awareness Month! Throughout the month, we’re highlighting some of the many ways our Head Start and Early Head Start programs support children and families.

One of those ways is through Early Head Start group socials!

Group socials give families an opportunity to come together, connect with one another, and enjoy activities that support learning and healthy development.

At a few recent group socials, families explored sensory activities, played with playdough, read books, spent time together in the gym, and learned more about Conscious Discipline and ways to support their child’s social-emotional development.

These gatherings are about more than having fun. They give families a chance to learn alongside their children, build relationships with other families and Early Head Start staff, and practice skills they can continue using at home.

It’s just one of the many ways Early Head Start partners with families during some of the most important years of a child’s development.
