🎨 Congratulations to our Community Day Coloring Contest winners!

Riverside Elementary students were recently invited to participate in Greenwood Hose Co. No. 1’s coloring contest as part of our Community Day celebration. With approximately 300 entries to review, our judges had the difficult task of selecting one winner from each grade!

Today, our winners were recognized for their creativity and hard work with a certificate of achievement and gift certificates from our generous community partners including Old Forge Mcdonald's, Cinemark Moosic & Ice Screamers.

Thank you to every student who participated, the teachers and families who encouraged them, our judges, and our community partners who helped make these prizes possible. We loved seeing fire safety brought to life through your artwork! 🚒❤️

Winners are pictured below with
President Joseph Gandara and Fire Chief Chuck Molinaro including 4th grader, Kason Kochis, 6th grader, Daniel Getts and Kindergarten student Jeremiah T. Missing from today’s event are: 5th grader, Kyla Savitski, 3rd grader, Legend Mercado Acevedo, 2nd grader Isabella Titus. Those students unable to attend today’s event will receive their awards at school later this week.

Our crew was tasked and stood fast as the "Rapid Intervention Team", on that very frigid evening, specifically in support of the Healthcare Professionals that entered the hospital under fire conditions to "Quench" the MRI machine and release the helium gas that is used to keep the unit cool. We played a very small part in a huge operation and are humbled to be considered among the others in this recognition on November 5th in Bethlehem.

Regional first responders who battled a February fire at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Dickson City will be honored with awards from the Burn Prevention Network and Lehigh Valley Health Network.
