🌳 Reduce potential fuel around your property.

Zone 2 extends 30–100 feet from your home (or to your property line) and focuses on reducing vegetation that can help slow the spread of wildfire.

Keep this area maintained by:

β€’ Keeping grass no taller than 3 inches
β€’ Trimming trees to create 6 feet of vertical clearance
β€’ Removing fallen leaves, needles, twigs, bark, cones, and small branches

πŸ”₯ The first five feet matter. Zone 0 β€” the area closest to your home β€” is one of the most important areas for fire protection.

Removing combustible materials near structures can help reduce the risk of ember ignition during a fire.

Be sure to check the California Board of Forestry's latest Zone 0 guidance and learn more about the fire requirements across each zone: https://www.mofd.org/how-do-i/code-enforcement-services
