Isaias has strengthened into a Category 3 Major Hurricane this morning and is expected to make landfall along northern Gulf Coast tonight or early Sunday.

Eastern NC will not have direct impacts from Isaias; however, a plume of moisture will interact with a slow-moving warm front across the Carolinas this weekend, bringing HIGH confidence for heavy rainfall and elevated coastal impacts. There is also a threat for a few thunderstorms to produce damaging wind gusts or and isolated tornado. The timing for impacts has sped up some since the last update with the peak expected Saturday night into Sunday.
