πΊπΈ NEVER FORGET β SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 πΊπΈ
Today, the members of Hayes Crossing Haldeman Fire Department pause to remember a day that forever changed our nation.
Twenty-five years later, the memories of September 11, 2001, remain etched in our hearts.
We remember the 2,977 innocent lives that were taken. We remember the families who lost loved ones, the survivors who carried on, and the countless people whose lives were forever changed.
But as a fire department, we especially remember the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.
They heard the call and went toward the danger.
They climbed the stairs while others were coming down. They searched for strangers they had never met. They carried out their duty with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to protect others.
They never came home.
Their sacrifice reminds every one of us who wears this uniform why we answer the call. Every time the tones drop, every time the doors open, and every time a firefighter steps into the unknown, we carry with us the legacy of those who came before us.
Today, we honor their courage.
We honor their sacrifice.
We honor their families.
And we honor the brotherhood and sisterhood of first responders that stood together on that terrible day.
From the members of Hayes Crossing Haldeman Fire Department β we remember the fallen, we honor their sacrifice, and we will NEVER FORGET.
