🐾 Celebrating the impact of partnership! 🐾
GADD is proud to be part of the incredible work made possible through the generous support of the Joanie Bernard Foundation.
For the past three years, this partnership has helped bring valuable resources, expertise, and support to animal welfare efforts throughout the Gateway region and beyond. We’re grateful for the Foundation’s investment in Kentucky communities and for the opportunity to be part of a statewide effort making a real difference for animals and the people who care for them. ❤️

Now that our most recent Kentucky visits, generously sponsored by the Joanie Bernard Foundation, are completed in the Barren River Area Development District, Cumberland Valley Area Development District and Kentucky River Area Development District, I wanted to take a moment and celebrate the amazing impact of the foundation. The Joanie Bernard Foundation focuses funding programs around cats (but my consults and visits are all inclusive -dogs, public policy recommendations, shelter design, etc.) and has historically concentrated within 100 miles of Cincinnati. That includes parts of Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. But we also acknowledge that helping in parts outside the circle, helps inside the circle too. We began funding cat spay/neuter 10 years ago in Northern Kentucky Area Development District, 8 years ago Bluegrass Area Development District and 3 years ago in Gateway Area Development District and DRUMROLL please....So far that has resulted in more than 50,000 surgeries through 26 counties (see green on the map) and dozens of amazing service providers totaling $4.2 million and very quickly dramatically reduced intake and ended euthanasia for space (see press release here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eACjJf0x-hQyHYm43UsI9QJwo47UCvke/view?usp=sharing)!! I have personally done consults and/or visits in all the green and blue counties. But wait, there's more! Another 44 counties were serviced by Kentucky Humane Society and Friends of Butler County Animals with more than $130,000 in funding for cat spay/neuter in the last 2 years (see map with blue counties and lines through them). And if that's not enough, the Joanie Bernard Foundation awarded Kentucky Humane Society a $1 million capital grant as they continue to so impactfully help throughout the state. So that is more than $5.3 million over the last 10 years! Thanks also to all the groups we continue to collab and network with to support all the amazing people in Kentucky doing the work to help and save animals!
