Four Morehead Firefighters Earn National EMT Certification
The Morehead Fire Department is proud to announce that four of its full-time firefighters have successfully completed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training and earned both Kentucky and National Registry EMT certification.
Firefighters Curtis Coleman, Blake McKibben, Canan Barker, and James Ingles began EMT coursework in May and recently passed the National Registry examination, the final requirement for EMT certification at both the state and national levels.
The achievement represents a significant enhancement to the department’s emergency response capabilities and reflects the firefighters’ dedication to professional development and public service.
As certified EMTs, Coleman, McKibben, Barker, and Ingles are now qualified to provide pre-hospital emergency medical care and assist with medical emergencies throughout Morehead and Rowan County. Their training enables them to work alongside Rowan County EMS during medical calls and provide critical care during incidents involving injuries, illnesses, and other medical emergencies.
The addition of four nationally certified EMTs further enhances the Morehead Fire Department’s ability to support emergency medical responses while continuing its mission of protecting lives and property through professional, compassionate, and effective service.
The City of Morehead congratulates Firefighters Curtis Coleman, Blake McKibben, Canan Barker, and James Ingles on this outstanding achievement and thanks them for their commitment to advancing their skills in service to the community.
