Loved one in jail needs bail money scam !!

Rowan & surrounding counties residents are receiving calls from scammers who claim to be with Probation & Parole, Pretrial, or anything they think of that may sound official. These scammers are looking at jail tracker or some other source & identifying individuals they see lodged, & the charges they have been arrested for. They are asking for bail money by any means the person answering the phone may have.

Please remind anyone you know who may have a loved one incarcerated not to fall for this scam.

Jury Duty Scam!!

We have just received two complaints in the past hour from residents who were scammed. Both these individuals reported receiving calls claiming they had missed jury duty & were being fined. They were informed they would get their fine reimbursed when they appeared at court.

Always remember to never give any caller your bank account information, credit card numbers or any personal information, regardless of how convincing they may sound.

Scammers will always notice what is going on in any given community, jury duty, tax collection, etc… and base their scams on those events .
