Preventing child abuse is possible! Your voice is the strongest way to spread awareness and protect children from further harm. This campaign was meant to highlight and address a worldwide issue that will not end unless we continue to educate and apply preventative measures to families throughout the country.

One of the most important things that we can do is support families, parents, and caregivers all year long in ways that promote and build upon their strengths and enable them to care for their children safely before maltreatment even becomes a possibility. If interested in learning practical and effective parenting techniques, please join us on April 24th for our last workshop of the month, Effective Parenting and Healthy Family Dynamics.

6:30pm in English and from 6:30-7:30pm in Spanish.

Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial s*x act. Although anyone can be trafficked, LGBTQIA+ youth are particularly vulnerable due to the absence of strong support networks, marginalization, and high rates of prior histories of violence.

January 11th is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Since 2014, nearly 15,000 youth have been identified by the Child Welfare Services for suspected exploitation and/or trafficking. Talk to a young person in your life to share the warning signs of human trafficking.

January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. It is a time to raise awareness and take collective action to prevent and end exploitation for all. Throughout this month, we honor first and foremost the survivors and thrivers, whose resilient voices shape and inspire our local and national work. Human Trafficking includes all forms of commercial s*xual exploitation of children. This encompasses the use, procuring, or offering of children for prostitution or po*******hy.
If you need assistance or have questions about human trafficking, call the National Human Trafficking Hotline (888) 373-7888. If you are in immediate danger or witness a potential HT situation happening, call 911.
