St. Mary Levee District The St. Mary Levee District was created in response to a request of federal officials to have one primary voice for river and surge flood control works.

Due to current low water conditions, USACE has fully opened the East and West Calumet floodgates during daytime hours.

Due to the approaching storm, the Franklin Canal, Yellow Bayou, Hansen Canal, and Bayou Teche structures will be closed between now and noon tomorrow, June 17.

Bayou Teche Flood Control Structure will be closed Tuesday, May 19th, from 7 a.m. to Noon for maintenance.
