The Union County Animal Control is located at 908 Sandy Lane, Morganfield, KY 42437. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00 am -4:00 pm. The county shelter only impounds dogs. Due to the number of animals received, the shelter is unable to keep them forever, so their time is limited. Strays brought into the shelter are held for 5 days before being available to the public for adoption or rescue. This allows time for owners to be reunited with their pets. We recommend TAGGING and/or MICROCHIPPING your pets. We do scan for microchips and check for tags at our facility. The public is encouraged to visit during normal business hours if interested in adopting a dog from the pound. More information on adoption is available at the facility. We strive to maintain good working relationships with area rescues in order to give each dog the best chance for a better life. We highly recommend all pet owners spay and neuter their dogs. The Union County Animal Control will require all adopted dogs to be spayed or neutered.

Stray Pickup: 5yr old male, brindle, Mastiff found on Hwy 60 between Stone Vet Clinic and The Well church. He had been seen in the area over the weekend as well but was able to be brought in today. 🐾If you have ever adopted, fostered, or shared a post for a shelter animal, this win belongs to you. Our very own Kathy Baird sat down with Happy Bark for Episode 2 of their podcast, Behind the Bark. She shares the raw, honest journey of how we transformed our shelter here in Morganfield from a heartbreaking 98% euthanasia rate to achieving no-kill status.We are incredibly proud, but the work never stops. Every dog that walks through our doors deserves a genuine second chance. We couldn't do this heavy lifting without partnerships like Happy Bark, located in Erie, PA and the incredible support of our local community.
