🎉 Celebrating Our Amazing Residents! 🎉

Today was an exciting and special day as we celebrated our wonderful residents by treating them to a delicious catered meal from Timberwood Restaurant! 🍽️❤️

We wanted to take this opportunity to show our heartfelt appreciation for the part they played in helping us achieve an incredible 99 on all three properties during our NSPIRE inspections! This is something we have worked so hard to obtain over the years and have finally been able to accomplish. 🏆🎉

Even more exciting, our inspector shared that the units she inspected were the best she had ever seen! What an amazing compliment and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and pride our residents put into keeping their homes clean, well-maintained, and in great condition! 🏡✨

We are so thankful for our residents' cooperation, commitment, and willingness to work alongside us to achieve this outstanding accomplishment. We know that we couldn't do it without them, and we truly appreciate the partnership we share.

Today was about more than just a meal. It was about recognizing our residents, celebrating their efforts, and letting them know how much they mean to us. They deserve to be celebrated, appreciated, and recognized for all they do! ❤️

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
NOTICE OF FIRST PUBLIC HEARING

The Morganton Housing Authority is holding a Public Hearing in order to receive citizen input in the development of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the coming year. These applications are to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Commerce. CDBG funds may be used for a variety of different activities including: Neighborhood Revitalization (NR), Economic Development (ED), Infrastructure, Community Housing, Demolition of publicly owned dilapidated buildings in order to create re-usable industrial sites, and Disaster Recovery (DR) including support to help communities deal with recovery from Hurricane Helene. All projects must predominately benefit low- and moderate-income persons.

The Public Hearing will be held at a special meeting on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 8:30 am at the Morganton Community House located at 120 N King St, Morganton, NC 28655.

The meeting will be held in an accessible room. All interested persons are invited to attend this hearing. Auxiliary aids will be supplied to the disabled if requested five days prior to the public hearing. Persons needing special assistance or non-English speaking persons desiring to participate in this hearing should contact Victoria Smith, Executive Director, at 828-437-9101 or 1-800-735-0533 (TDD/TTY) for the hearing impaired.

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our NSPIRE Inspection for Providence Place Apartments across our Carolina, Virginia, Center, Wrighton, and Huffman Street locations. We expect a great score in the upcoming days!!!

The inspector was thoroughly impressed by the condition of each apartment that was inspected and spoke very highly of the residents she encountered and our maintenance team. We are so proud to be a part of such a great group of staff and residents.

Every great success we achieve is only a result of what happens when we work together!

We are so happy to congratulate Ms. Perez on winning our Beautification Contest!

There’s something special about turning a house into a home. From the beautiful touches outside to the warmth and care throughout, it’s clear that she has poured love, pride, and personality into making her home a place that feels welcoming and truly her own.

We at MHA, appreciate all our residents who take pride in their homes and help bring beauty and warmth to our communities.

On behalf of the Morganton Housing Authority, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Summit Community Church for hosting the recent back-to-school event on Carolina Street.

We are deeply grateful to Clark and Katie Paige, as well as the many church members who dedicate their time to outreach within our communities. Your continued support and care for our residents are truly appreciated and meaningful.

On behalf of the Morganton Housing Authority, I would like to thank all the wonderful campers with Catholic Heart Mission. They all worked so hard and made our residents feel special by taking the time to speak with them and get to know them.
