Customers near 4051 Mineral Springs Mountain Road, Trail Lane, and Abee Farm Road will be without water during water line repairs scheduled for 9 a.m.โ€“5 p.m.

Good afternoon, Burke County residents. We know everyone is thankful the rain has stopped. However, flooding and other storm impacts continue to affect our community. Please remain alert as crews assess conditions and respond to affected areas.

๐”๐๐ƒ๐€๐“๐„: Both Lake James and Lake Rhodhiss are now spilling. Lake James could reach 101.0 feet, and Lake Rhodhiss could potentially exceed 103.0 feet early this afternoon on their respective reporting scales.

Recent rainfall is increasing inflows throughout the Catawba-Wateree River Basin. Duke Energy continues moving water through the river system. High water can create hazardous boating conditions.

City of Morganton reports Bethel Park and the Greenlee Ford access to the Greenway are currently closed. Please respect these closures and avoid flooded parks and trails.

Residents along lakes, rivers, and in flood-prone areas should closely monitor rising water and changing conditions. If water threatens your location, move to higher ground. Stay away from flooded areas. Hazards may be present on backroads and in low-lying areas. Do not drive through flooded roadways or around barricades.
