WorkSource West Providing career-focused training and instruction for people with disabilities.

WorkSource West (WSW) is a community rehabilitation program serving Western North Carolina that prepares people with disabilities for competitive integrated employment in a community job, more independent living and increased financial self-sufficiency. WSW offers a variety of career training programs through classroom instruction and hands-on skill-building. Programming options include customized soft-skills training and work-skills development to increase student employability. Students benefit from training centered around smaller class sizes, customized teaching materials and opportunities for one-on-one instruction. Students have the option to participate in work-learning opportunities with local businesses and earn a certificate upon completing the program. WorkSource West is a Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) administered through the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Division of Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD).

Congratulations to Max, one of our recent graduates who recently completed the curriculum in Assembly and Manufacturing here at WorkSource West!
Max participated in a vocational evaluation, completed Employment Marketing Skills Training, CPR/First Aid Certification, and participated in the WSW learners permit prep course. We are happy to share that she successfully obtained her learners permit after attending this training.
Max has also obtained competitive, gainful employment since completing her time at WSW.

WorkSource West is pleased to welcome Blaze Smith as our new Community Employment Program Specialist, working as an Adjustment Service Instructor. Blaze attended Western Piedmont Community College and completed his internship with our office in August 2025. He is enthusiastic about joining the EIPD team and looks forward to serving our consumers and the community in this new role.
