As our marching season comes to a close here in a few weeks, we are already looking forward to our other competitive group - Winterguard. Wintergaurd is a competitive, small group of students with skill in color guard, dance, and other visual elements.

You do not currently have to be in the BCHS Band of Blue Color Guard to be eligible and the auditions are open to ANY current 8th - 12th graders. Here are some important dates:

Tuesday, Oct. 20th: Interest Meeting, BCHS Band Room 5:30 PM following marching band rehearsal
A parent or guardian is REQUIRED to attend this meeting with the interested student so that someone from the household is also informed as to what Winterguard is and the commitments required.
If an adult cannot make the meeting, a phone call must be set up with the director for direct communication.

Wednesday, Nov. 4th: Audition Camp Day 1, 3:00 - 6:00 PM in the Fieldhouse
Friday, Nov. 6th: Audition Camp Day 2, 3:00 - 6:00 PM in the Fieldhouse
Monday, Nov. 9th: Official Audition, 3:00 - 5:00 PM in the Fieldhouse
Monday, Nov. 16th: Uniform Sizing Date, Time TBA

Students are heavily encouraged to make and be at both camp dates to learn the routine for the audition, but only presence at one is required to be eligible for the audition. If you are present for the audition, you are confirming that you are interested, eligible, understanding, and committed to our winterguard. If you are chosen for this seelctive group and pass the audition, you are responsible for all subsequent fees and are expected to follow through as a member to be sized for a uniform and join the group.

We’d like to give a huge THANK YOU to these individuals who have helped keep our students fed this season! The Family Resource Center has helped provide food for the kids - including firehouse pizza, Crossland Community Church provided our students with a meal this past weekend, and Amber Johnson for cooking breakfast for the kids as well on Saturday!

It takes a village to feed and support all of these students and we are blessed with the support! 💙🎶
