We are proud to announce that Clinton District Volunteer Fire Department, along with Cool Springs VFD, Triune Halleck VFD, and Brookhaven VFD, has been awarded a 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Regional Grant.

Through this regional award, our departments will receive new Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBAs), Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) Packs, and additional face masks.

This equipment is much more than an upgrade—it is essential life-safety equipment for the men and women who respond when our communities need us most. SCBAs provide firefighters with breathable air while operating in smoke-filled, toxic, and immediately dangerous environments. RIT Packs provide an additional emergency air supply and are specifically designed to assist firefighters who become trapped, injured, or run low on air during an emergency. The additional face masks will help ensure our members are properly equipped and ready to respond.

For volunteer fire departments, replacing and upgrading this type of equipment represents a significant financial investment. Receiving this regional grant allows our departments to put modern, dependable equipment into service while reducing the financial burden that would otherwise fall on our departments and the communities we serve.

Most importantly, this award is an investment in firefighter safety and community safety. Every time our members enter a burning structure or hazardous atmosphere, we depend on this equipment to protect them so they can carry out their mission and return home safely to their families.

Regional cooperation is a major part of the fire service. Clinton District, Cool Springs, Triune Halleck, and Brookhaven routinely stand ready to assist one another. Equipping our firefighters with compatible, updated equipment strengthens that partnership and improves our ability to work together during major incidents.

We are extremely grateful for this award and for the continued support of our communities. We also thank everyone who contributed to the preparation and submission of this regional grant.
