It's been a great month of training at PFFD! With grant money and state aid, we were able to purchase the UNHINGED training system, which are modular training walls. Search and rescue training went better than ever! Last year we purchased a Conex box and this summer we purchased a second one which we have been working on leveling and getting a foundation set. These, once completed, will greatly increase our training opportunities. We have already been able to install our forcible entry window and door and begin training on that. Hydrant testing, pump ops, and deck gun training were also conducted. This week we trained on vehicle fires. Next week... vehicle extrication!

It was a hot one today but IIA got it done for us! Hose testing for the year is complete and all our grant purchased 5 inch hose was tested and loaded onto the trucks, along with all our existing hose. We couldn't have asked for better service. We all finished up testing with some Popsicles!

Due to the Labor Day holiday, our regularly scheduled fire district board meeting will be moved to Tuesday, September 8th, 2026, with the call to order at 7:30pm.

We were fortunate enough to be awarded an AFG Grant to purchase (16) new Scott SCBA,(16) spare cylinders, (2) RIT packs, and SCBA Masks for each member. These new packs will allow us to have better operational efficiency when in use. We would like to thank everyone involved in this process.

Thank you to the Piner Fiskburg Fire Protection District (KY) on their purchase of a Spartan commercial pumper from Johnson's Emergency Vehicle Solutions! We greatly appreciate this customer for placing their trust in our team to set them up with a solid spec to go to work with.
