When someone believes they are entitled to your time, attention, access, or compliance, they may not see a boundary as something to respect.

They may see it as something to test, push, negotiate, undermine, or overcome.

"No" becomes something to change.
Distance becomes something to close.
Privacy becomes something to invade.
Independence becomes something to challenge.

A boundary isn't an invitation to negotiate. It is another person's right to decide where their limits are.
