I was asked to say a few words this weekend at the Global War on Terrorism commemoration at County College of Morris. I tried, and I couldn't get them out.

I always thought I understood what Vietnam veterans felt when they stood at the Wall. I was wrong. I looked out at the faces of the men and women we lost in the Global War on Terror, some of whom I knew and served with, and it broke me.

This is a picture of me, but I don't think it's only about me. I think it shows what every combat veteran carries, whether it shows on the outside or not.

To Morris County Government, County College of Morris, NJ SOS Veteran Stakeholders group, Welcome Home Vets of NJ, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson and everyone who brought this memorial to New Jersey: I couldn't find the words to thank you in the moment, so I'll say it now. You made a difference. Thank you.

We will never forget them.

Jeremy Li: “I am receiving concerning news that many families have waited close to an hour for buses to arrive.”

Superintendent Robert Beers: “…go f—k yourself”

Board President Michael Pepe: “…shut up”

They can try and intimidate me, but I will never stop fighting for you and for our families because you deserve a voice at the table!

“The following statements are made in my capacity as a private citizen, and not in my capacity as a board member. These statements are also not representative of the Board or its individual members and solely represent my own personal opinions.”

Governor Mikie Sherrill can dream about the White House on her own time. But traipsing around the country campaigning for Democrats while Dale Caldwell repeatedly took charge of NJ?

Caldwell’s staff was trying to manage his conduct toward women while Sherrill was "on tour". Ex: At an official event, he asked whether a staffer’s younger friend was single & sought her phone number. After being told she wasn’t interested, he told the staffer that successful young women were looking for “young sperm.” Investigators substantiated sexual harassment. They also found that he brought personal guests to ticketed events without paying and pushed for a promotion for a woman he was dating, without disclosing their relationship. He sent that promotion email four days after being notified he was under investigation.

Senior officials raised concerns about his conduct toward women in March (he was warned directly on March 25). Taxpayers were then billed nearly $50K through June 25 for an investigation charging $450 an hour for attorney time. While it was underway, Caldwell served as acting governor EIGHTEEN TIMES.

These are substantiated workplace and ethics violations, not criminal convictions. Sherrill can’t fire an elected lieutenant governor, but she can demand his resignation. If he refuses, the Assembly can pursue impeachment and the Senate can vote on removal.

The legal bill was dumped on us, but the responsibility for leaving him in charge belongs with Madam Governor. She goes from radio silence and "what investigation?" re: a taxpayer-funded investigation that started in the spring, to now giving him less than 24 hours to resign.

Curious, no?

🇺🇸Just a few of the many faces from a great night with Joe Hathaway! It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and so many people coming together to connect, share ideas, and show their support. What stood out was the mix of people in the room—friends, supporters, community members, and individuals who simply wanted the opportunity to hear from Joe and be part of the conversation. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent the evening with us!🇺🇸
