Morris Fire Department Mourns the Loss of Henry “Hank” W. Rehrmann
It is with great sadness that the Morris Fire Department announces the passing of Henry “Hank” W. Rehrmann, who passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 82.
Hank dedicated 60 years of service to the Morris Fire Department, beginning when he returned to Morris to raise his family. Throughout those six decades, he served his community with tremendous dedication and pride. He served as Fire Chief and, most recently, as a Morris Fire District Commissioner.
In 1976, Hank was honored as the Otsego County Volunteer Fireman of the Year, recognizing his outstanding commitment to the fire service and his community.
For those of us who had the privilege of knowing Hank through the fire department, we will remember much more than his years of service. We will remember his willingness to help, his knowledge and experience, his dedication to the community, and, of course, his quick wit and funny one-liners for every occasion.
Hank was a firefighter, chief, commissioner, husband, father, grandfather, friend, and community servant. He gave an incredible amount of his life to helping others.
Thank you, Hank, for 60 years of service to the Morris Fire Department and to the community you loved. Your dedication, friendship, and memory will never be forgotten.
Our deepest condolences go out to Marcia and the entire Rehrmann family during this difficult time.
Rest easy, Hank. We’ll take it from here. 🚒
60 Years of Service. A Lifetime of Dedication.
Gone, but never forgotten.
