Another packed week of programs at YOUR Morris Area Public Library!

We are especially excited to welcome everyone on Thursday, October 29, 2026 during the Annual Downtown Trick or Treat from 5-7PM. Thanks to a generous grant through the Community Foundation of Grundy County we will once again be offering free hot dogs during the event.

Also our parking lot will host a variety of Afterschool Program options in the Morris Area for a Trunk or Treat to add to the festivities. Be sure to stop by and check out all our area has to offer!

Planning for college? Let us help make the financial aid process a little easier!

Join us at YOUR Morris Area Public Library for a FAFSA Application Completion Night with representatives from Joliet Junior College who will be available to provide personalized assistance to students and families as they complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

What to Bring:

Income and asset information for 2025

Your FSA ID, if applicable, to access tax and income information

A laptop, if possible. The library has Chromebooks available for in-house checkout.

Registration is recommended to help ensure time is available to review your application and provide personalized assistance.

Whether you're just getting started or need a little extra help finishing your application, we're here to help you take the next step toward college!

We have TWO chances to shout “BINGO!” at YOUR Morris Area Public Library this month! Whether you're looking for a fun afternoon out or a family night filled with laughs, we've got you covered.

Monday, October 26 | 12:30 PM

Join us for a fun twist on classic BINGO! Participants are asked to bring a small item to contribute to the prize table. Get ready for some friendly competition and surprises along the way!

🟢All-Ages Bingo Night
Tuesday, October 27 | 6 PM

Bring the whole crew for an evening of family-friendly fun! We'll play multiple rounds of classic BINGO with simple, lighthearted prizes and plenty of chances to yell “BINGO!” Kids, teens, and adults are all welcome!

🌿 Improve Your Balance with Tai Ji Quan!

Looking for a gentle way to improve your balance, flexibility, and overall well-being? Join us at YOUR Morris Area Public Library for a new session of Tai Ji Quan (Tai Chi) beginning Friday, October 30, at 1:30 PM!

This evidence-based, adapted movement program combines slow, flowing motions with deep breathing and mindfulness to help improve balance, reduce stress, and support overall wellness. It’s low-impact, beginner-friendly, and suitable for all fitness levels. No prior experience is needed!

💚 New participants are always welcome!

We have a great lineup of programs coming your way next week! From a relaxed movie experience to memory-friendly activities and a teen after-hours party, there’s something for everyone.

Sunday | 1–3 PM | Sensory-Friendly Cinema
Enjoy a movie in a relaxed, welcoming environment! With lights on, lower volume, captions, and sensory-friendly supports available, everyone can enjoy the movie at their own pace. Open to all ages and abilities!

Tuesday | 10:30 AM - 12 PM | Memory Café
A friendly, welcoming space for people living with memory loss and their caregivers to relax, connect with others, and enjoy activities together.

Friday | 4:30–9 PM | Library After Dark
Teens, get ready for the ultimate after-hours party! Join us for pizza, laser tag, video games, and pumpkin carving! Prior registration is required for this event with signed waivers from parent or guardian. Stop in the library this week to pick up a form!
