10/12/2026
In honor and observance of Indigenous People's Day, BHSN will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026.
We return to regular operating hours tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13.
Today, we take time to acknowledge that our organization resides on land that belongs to the Iroquois, Western Abenaki, Mohican and Mohawk peoples. We honor the original caretakers of this land and its surrounding area, and we offer respect to the Haudenosaunee, who are still here.
This land and body of water, now known as Lake Champlain, was inhabited and nurtured by these peoples for thousands of years. We must do the same to nurture and protect this sacred land.
We wish to pay our respects to those of past, present, and future generations who have been dislocated from the area. We wish to extend our gratitude towards the contributions their elders have made to shape our land.
As settlers on this land, BHSN strives to be accountable by remembering this history and cultivating respect in our relationships with our Indigenous neighbors as well as with the land.
