As Morris Township continues the process of developing its new Master Plan, the next phase of community engagement will focus on a series of Topical Workshops. Building on the valuable feedback gathered during the Visioning Workshops held in May and the online community survey conducted from July through October, these workshops will provide residents with another opportunity to help shape the Township’s future.

The Topical Workshops will encourage residents to explore key community priorities, consider potential trade-offs, and offer strategic recommendations in four important areas: Housing, Parks/Recreation and Sustainability, Mobility, and Economic Development.

To allow for meaningful discussion and thoughtful input, the topics will be divided between two workshops:

Monday, November 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM
Location: Frelinghuysen School
Topics: Housing and Parks/Recreation and Sustainability

Saturday, November 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM

We're a little late in sharing, but the importance of preserving our history deserves recognition year-round!

Each May, we celebrate National Historic Preservation Month, a time to recognize the places, stories, and landmarks that connect us to our past and shape our communities.

Since 2019, the Morris Township Historic Preservation Commission, in partnership with the Morristown Historic Preservation Commission, has annually recognized a local historic property for its architectural, cultural, or historical significance.

This year's recognition is especially meaningful as we commemorate America's 250th anniversary! 🇺🇸 Morris Township and Morristown played significant roles in our nation's Revolutionary War history, making the preservation of our historic properties all the more important. As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded that preserving our past is not just about protecting buildings, but about honoring the people, stories, and events that shaped our nation and ensuring future generations can appreciate them.
