Join us on Thursday, September 17, where Morris County Park Commission and NJAISA will be hosting a "Grove of 13" tree planting ceremony in honor of America's 250th. Thirteen trees will be planted to represent each of the original thirteen colonies.
This 9/11, we are still thinking of the courage that led so many people to heroic efforts in response to the tragedy that day. Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor the tenacity that led to many lives saved and the sacrifices made by so many first-responders and brave bystanders on behalf of fellow Americans.
It is that kind of tenacity that lies at the core of the United States of America's founding. Our founders first declared this country a nation on July 4, 1776, in the midst of an ongoing war for our independence. As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of this nation, we remember the legacy of all those brave men and women who have prioritized service to others over their own safety.
There are two special events coming up next week to honor our veterans and to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation.
▪️On Wednesday, September 16, volunteers will be providing tree work in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery through Saluting Branches.
▪️On Thursday, September 17, the NJAISA, together with the Morris County Park Commission, will be hosting a "Grove of 13" tree planting ceremony in honor of our nation's 250th. Thirteen trees will be planted, one to represent each of the original thirteen colonies.
All are welcome at the Grove of 13 tree planting ceremony, but please see the invitation linked in the comments and email [email protected] to RSVP.
Additionally, re: 9/11, if you have not seen the documentary "The Trees," we recommend it. "Filmed over the course of five years, The Trees documents the journey of over 400 Swamp White Oaks from their temporary home in New Jersey to the World Trade Center Memorial Plaza. "
You'll see some familiar faces. 🔗 in the comments.
