Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our nation and the lives of so many.
We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families who said goodbye that morning without knowing it would be for the last time, the survivors who carry that day with them, and the first responders who ran toward danger when every instinct told others to run away.
For a moment, it felt as though the entire world had paused.
And then, in the midst of unimaginable tragedy, something remarkable happened: **we came together.**
Neighbors helped neighbors. Strangers helped strangers. First responders, volunteers, and everyday Americans stepped forward to help however they could. We put aside so much of what divided us and remembered what connected us. In one of our country's darkest moments, we showed each other what unity, compassion, courage, and service truly looked like.
Twenty-five years later, I believe that part of September 11 is important to remember, too.
We honor those we lost not only by remembering their names and their stories, but by remembering how we responded as a nation — by helping one another, caring for our neighbors, and standing together when our country needed us most.
May we never forget those who were taken from us. May we always honor the heroes who answered the call. And may we never lose sight of the strength we have when we choose to stand together and help one another.
**25 years later, we remember. We honor. And we will never forget. 🇺🇸**
