Our hearts are with our brothers and sisters at Durham Fire Department and the family of their fallen firefighter. ❤️‍🩹

We are also keeping the firefighters who were injured in this tragic incident in our thoughts and prayers.

From the Morrisville Fire Department family, we stand with you during this difficult time. 🖤🚒

🔥⚡️Sparky has a new superpower… and he’s putting it to good use!

We had a great time spending some time with our friends at the Morrisville Senior Center—and even getting a little mahjong in with Sparky!

While we’re having fun, we also want to remind everyone that safe charging starts with the everyday choices we make:

🔌 Use the charger and cord that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
🔋 Unplug devices when they are fully charged.
🛋️ Charge on a hard, flat surface—not on a bed, couch, or pillow.
🛴 When possible, charge e-bikes, scooters and power tools outside.
⚠️ If a battery becomes unusually hot, swells, leaks, smokes, or makes popping or hissing sounds, stop using it.

This Fire Prevention Week, use your charging superpower! Small actions can help prevent lithium-ion battery fires and keep our Morrisville community safe.

The Morrisville Fire Department is teaming up with NFPA to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week™, October 4 -10, Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower. Help us spread the word that everyday actions can help prevent lithium-ion battery fires.

Use your charging superpower by making smart choices every time you plug in. For more info visit fpw.org.

🚨 Thank You, Morrisville! 🚨

A big thank you to everyone who came out to our Emergency Preparedness Presentation at the Morrisville Senior Center this afternoon! We loved spending the afternoon with our community, sharing important information and answering questions about how to be prepared before an emergency happens.

Preparedness starts with a plan—and we’re grateful for everyone who took the time to learn, ask questions, and take steps toward being better prepared. ❤️

Thank you to the Morrisville Senior Center for having us, and to everyone who joined us!

Stay prepared. Stay informed. Stay safe! 🧯📻🔦
