Have you ever wondered where your water goes between the time it leaves the meter and reaches your faucet?

We're making it easier for customers to understand their water use, one smart meter at a time.

CCWA has installed more than 60,000 smart meters, bringing us another step closer to converting our entire service area to a smart metering system.

These meters provide near-real-time water usage data that can help customers spot unusual patterns, identify potential leaks and better understand their consumption.

Because when you have a clearer picture of your water use, you can make more informed decisions about it.

A big thank you to our incredible community volunteers and CCWA Ambassadors who helped make this year’s Rivers Alive Stream Cleanup a success! On October 17, volunteers gathered at Panhandle Park in Jonesboro and collected an impressive 1,460 pounds of trash, litter, tires and other debris to help keep our local waterways clean. From hands-on cleanup efforts to educational activities, everyone played a part in protecting our environment and making a difference in our community. Thank you to everyone who showed up and got involved. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Behind the Tap Spotlight: Procurement & Contract Specialist Luke R.

Meet Procurement & Contract Specialist Luke R. Luke helps CCWA departments navigate the procurement process and works behind the scenes to ensure CCWA gets the goods and services it needs to keep operations running smoothly.

Luke’s day typically starts like many people’s, with a few cups of coffee. Once he arrives at work, he checks his email and workflow management tool to see where his projects stand, what needs attention and how he should prioritize his day.

From there, no two days are necessarily the same. Luke may prepare a request for companies to submit bids, review pricing, help a department determine the best way to purchase something it needs, answer questions from vendors, coordinate site visits or review bids and proposals.

CCWA is proud to be recognized with the Safety Innovation Award from the National Safety Council for M.I.T.C.H.™ 2.0, the Mobile Illuminated Traffic Control Hub.

Following a 2022 struck-by incident, CCWA challenged itself to find a safer way to protect employees working near live traffic. The result was M.I.T.C.H.™ 2.0, a solar-powered mobile platform that brings temporary traffic control devices, lighting, communications, PPE and safety equipment together in one deployable unit.

Since implementation, M.I.T.C.H.™ 2.0 has helped achieve:

- 57% reduction in work zone setup time
- 23% reduction in employee exposure to live traffic
- Less than 1% secondary dispatches
- Zero struck-by incidents since implementation

This recognition highlights the innovation and dedication of CCWA employees in creating safer ways to work.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring M.I.T.C.H.™ 2.0 to life!
