πŸ“šπŸ’™πŸ’› THRIVING TOGETHER THURSDAY: LITERACY EVENTS & INITIATIVES

Literacy doesn't begin and end when the school bell rings. We build a culture of reading when books, families, schools, and communities come together! πŸ“–βœ¨

Reading fairs, book fairs, family literacy nights, cozy book nooks, little libraries, author visits, reading challenges, book swaps, and literacy celebrations do more than create memorable experiencesβ€”they help make reading visible, accessible, joyful, and part of everyday life.

🀝 Engage families.
πŸ“š Increase access to books.
🏑 Extend literacy beyond the classroom.
πŸ’‘ Spark excitement about reading.
πŸ’™ Build stronger school-community connections.
🌱 Nurture lifelong readers.

Every literacy initiative is another opportunity to place a book in a scholar's hands, invite a family into the learning, and remind our communities that literacy belongs to all of us.

✨ READ. CONNECT. CELEBRATE. GROW. TOGETHER.

Because when we create communities where reading is celebrated everywhere, we aren't simply developing stronger readersβ€”we're opening doors to brighter futures. πŸ’™πŸ“šπŸ’›

🌿 Today in 5th Grade ELA, my scholars put their learning into action! πŸ“šπŸͺ΅ While bringing Hatchet to life, we practiced using text evidence, making connections, and understanding point of view as we designed and built our own shelters inspired by the story.
I love watching my scholars think creatively, work together, and bring their learning to life! ❀️ Learning is so much more meaningful when they can create, explore, and make connections beyond the pages of a book! πŸ•οΈ

πŸ”¬πŸ’™πŸ’› Lifelong learners help grow lifelong learners!

BMJ’s leadership team is excited to celebrate our 5th grade Science team, Ms. S. Adams and Ms. T. Adams, for their commitment to learning and growing through the Science Conference in Meridian, MS, October 18–20!

Their dedication to deepening their science knowledge and exploring instructional ideas reflects what we value at BMJβ€”intentional teaching, continuous growth, and meaningful learning for every Panther. We are excited to see that learning spark curiosity in our classrooms! 🐾πŸ§ͺ

It was a pleasure welcoming these 5th-grade science teachers to The Excellence Group booth at MSTA!

We enjoyed the opportunity to connect, share resources, and celebrate the important work science teachers do every day to inspire curiosity and a love of learning in their students.

Thank you for stopping by!
