PLEASE HELP FIX A DANGEROUS INTERSECTION
LETTERS OF SUPPORT NEEDED
If you drive Driscoll Ridge or Lamb Road, you know the blind corner where they meet. North Latah County Highway District is applying for an LHTAC (Local Highway Technical Assistance Council) grant to make it safer. If the grant is awarded, the fix could be built in 2027, but the District needs to show community support.
This intersection has been in the same place since the early 1900s, when Latah County had about 13,000 people. Today it's almost 42,000. More residents, plus drivers using Driscoll Ridge–Lamb as a shortcut to Kendrick, mean more traffic, and too many people take the blind corner too fast. Add drivers heading west on Lamb who have to turn left onto Driscoll Ridge without being able to see oncoming traffic. We can't limit who uses a public road or close it to through traffic, so the fix has to be in the design. The intersection has been ranked the most hazardous in Latah County, which makes it eligible for this grant.
Write a short letter of support. Two or three sentences is enough. If you've had a close call or use this road regularly, say so. Personal stories carry weight.
