At NPI, we believe that Every 1 Matters! Our school came together for a special, inclusive project that celebrates the importance of every student. Lead by students in Miss Lentowski’s class, students, teachers, administration and staff from across the school decorated their own unique number 1, which became part of a school wide display showcasing inclusion. Just like each colorful number, every student brings something special to our NPI family. This project serves as a reminder that everyone belongs, everyone is valued, and EVERY 1 MATTERS!

North Pocono Intermediate will have its Picture Makeup/Retake day on Tuesday November 3.
For students who already placed an order and would like a retake: Please return your photo package to the photographer, there is no need to place a new order. They will automatically fulfill your original package using the new photo.
For new students or absent students: a proof card will be sent home after retake day with instructions on how to view photos and place an order.

Miss Lentowski and Mrs. Fromert recently took students to Windy Haven Farm for an exciting hands-on learning experience! Students learned about the biology of alpacas and discovered the many uses of alpaca fiber. They even had the opportunity to create their own fiber balls!

The students had a wonderful time learning, exploring and creating. A big thank you to Windy Haven Farm for welcoming us and providing such a fun and educational experience.

Thank you to the volunteers firefighters from Moscow, Elmhurst/Roaring Brook, and Covington Fire Departments for coming in to speak with our 4th and 5th graders about fire prevention and fire safety. After the presentations students had the opportunity to see the firefighters in their gear and check out the rescue vehicles they brought with them.

To wrap up their unit on volume, Mrs. Bechaver's math students worked together to solve a mystery - The Candy Conundrum....

To wrap up their unit on volume, Mrs. Bechaver's math students worked together to solve a mystery - The Candy Conundrum. By finding the volumes of rectangular prisms and compound figures, the students eliminated candy snatching suspects from their list until just the three thieves remained. After cracking the case, they enjoyed some sweet treats. 🍭🍬

Learning about mixtures has been pretty "groovy" in NPIs 5th grade science classes these days! The students participated in a lab this week where they were able to create lava lamp models and explore firsthand physical science topics such as density, suspensions, and signs of chemical reactions.
