A general election is upon us, just 56 days away. A good friend who has encouraged me into races once asked me, “is your heart in federal or state issues?” My heart is and always will be here, in Wisconsin.
The 10th Amendment reserves all rights not given to the federal government by the Constitution to the states. That is a tremendous power and responsibility. More importantly, it is an opportunity. It is an opportunity for any state in our union to shine. What is our opportunity?
We have an opportunity for strength and growth at our fingertips. We have a burgeoning budget surplus sitting in Madison; we have eager and ready businesses who love this state and want to call it their permanent home; we have rolling hills and fields of rich agricultural land feeding America; and we are a state that welcomes anyone by buying a b**r to start the conversation and closing with “one more.” If you love that, so do I. If that is your Wisconsin, and I assure you it is mine, it is in jeopardy.
Democrats in the Legislature held hands to keep nearly $2 billion in Madison despite pleas from Gov. Evers himself to send it back to you. Democrats in the Legislature held hands to vote no to the elimination of taxes on tips for struggling waiters and waitresses. Democrats in the Legislature held hands to say no to $1.5 billion in tax cuts for seniors and the middle class. And, democrats held hands to say no to historic increases in funding for special needs children in public schools. These are facts.
Wisconsin’s future is your choice. Democrats are soft on crime, soft on the future of making Wisconsin economically competitive, and hard on screwing you if it gets them through an election before pulling the wool over your eyes for 2 to 4 years in power. The risk is how you come out of it. After 2010, Gov. Walker’s budget repair bill did it. After 2026, we may be too far gone. This November, tell those on the left who are prepared to make us the next Minnesota, hold my b**r while I go vote.Republican Party of ShawanoRepublican Party of Portage County, WIWaupaca County Republican PartyRepublican Party of Marathon County
