Mounds View Police Department

10/23/2026

This week, Mounds View officers took time to focus on mental health and wellness, an important part of keeping our team healthy, resilient, and ready to serve our community.

Officers also spent time reviewing legal updates with our city and county attorneys to stay informed and up to date.

Continued training and prioritizing officer wellness help us better serve and protect our community.

It’s National School Bus Safety Week! 🚌 A few reminders to help keep students safe:

🟡 Flashing yellow lights mean a bus is preparing to stop. Slow down, stay alert and be ready to stop.
📱 Put distractions away and watch for kids near bus stops and crossing the road.
🚸 Give students plenty of time and space to get on and off the bus.

Let’s help every student get to and from school safely!

As we kick off National School Bus Safety Week, parents — remind your kids to always:

🟡 Look left-right-left before crossing the street.
🟡 Stay at least 5 giant steps away from the curb.
🟡 Before boarding, wait for the bus to come to a complete stop.

Thank you to Linnea’s Sweets and Treats for dropping off cookies for our department! Everything was delicious! 🍪

They’re so good that some of our officers have been stopping by her porch bakery on the weekends for more. We appreciate you thinking of us, Linnea!

Arcadia is not working with Xcel Energy. We have had reports of this company soliciting door to door without the proper permits. Please do not share any information with them, and call the police immediately. Use either 911 or the Non Emergency Dispatch at 651-484-9155 and the police will speak with their employees.

🍂 Where did September go?! 🍂

It feels like we just welcomed September, and somehow we’re already into October! It was a busy month for the Mounds View Police Department, and we wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the great opportunities we had to connect with our community and neighboring partners.

🕊️ Tribute Park Memorial Ceremony
We were honored to take part in the Tribute Park Memorial Ceremony, remembering and honoring our first responders, veterans, military members, victims of the I-35W collapse, and residents of Mounds View who lost their lives in tragic accidents.

🎤 The Dwelling Place Banquet
Thank you to The Dwelling Place for inviting Chief Zender to speak at your banquet. We truly appreciate the opportunity to spend time with your organization and share in such a meaningful evening.

🥎 MVPD vs. SBM Fire Softball Game
The annual battle on the softball field was back! While we gave it our best, SBM Fire took home the traveling bat this year. 🚒🥎 Congratulations, Spring Lake Park, Blaine, Mounds View Fire Dept.......we’ll see you next year (and several other times between now and then)

🤝 Mounds View Parks and Recreation Community Resource Fair
Officer Le Voir enjoyed stopping by the Community Resource Fair at the MVCC and connecting with community members and local organizations.

⛪ IPUL Minneapolis
We were grateful to be invited to join the congregation at Iglesia Pentecostal Church. Thank you for welcoming our officers and giving us the opportunity to spend time with your community.

🚒 SBM Fire Open Houses
Officer Le Voir and CSO Laska also had the chance to stop by a couple of SBM Fire’s open houses. We always enjoy getting out, meeting our neighbors, and spending time with our public safety partners!

September may have flown by, but we’re thankful for all the opportunities it brought to connect, serve, and build relationships within our community. ❤️💙

Here’s to another great month, we're already off to a great start!
