Last night at 9:04pm Franklin Community Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to assist Cana Volunteer Fire Department for a structure fire with multiple structures involved.

Chief Soots requested for Four Way Volunteer Fire Department to be dispatched to assist with another tanker and manpower. They responded with a tanker and a pump truck.

FCVFD put together a crew and responded with unit 1.

Pine Ridge Volunteer Fire Department advised they had volunteers available for response as well. They responded with a tanker and a crew.

Great response by all departments for this incident. Neighboring departments work together to best serve the communities we live in.

Today, we take a moment to remember those who lost their lives in the tragedy that took place on September 11, 2001.

What started as a normal morning, quickly took a terrible turn. 25 years later, we still mourn the loss of the civilians, first responders, military personnel, and flight crew who lost their lives.

And to the firefighters and first responders who gave the ultimate sacrifice on that day, your legacy will live on and will never be forgotten. This country is a better place because of people like them, selflessly taking care of others during the final moments of their own lives.

**Highway 89 / West Pine street closed**

Last night at 9:21pm FCVFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer.

Communications advised it was a tractor trailer vs a power pole with live lines down on the truck.

FCVFD arrived on scene to find a tractor hauling a piece of heavy machinery that had been caught in cable lines with live secondary power lines down across 89.

Highway 89 was closed down last night from Horizon Equipment rentals to Toast road. It will remain closed till early afternoon today while power crews fix the poles and down lines.

Toast road is open and will be the diverted route around the incident.

Please plan accordingly during your commute today.

Today at Franklin Community Volunteer Fire Department, A member spent the day completing apparatus certifications.

Before any firefighter is allowed to respond to emergency calls on one of our trucks, they must first demonstrate that they can safely operate and use that apparatus. Safety—for both our firefighters and the citizens we serve—is always our top priority.

For the trucks pictured, each member must complete:
-20 hours of supervised driving
-6 hours of pump operations training
-A minimum of 3 emergency responses with a supervising officer

Only after successfully completing these requirements can they be evaluated and certified by the Fire Chief or an Assistant Chief.

These standards take time, dedication, and commitment, but they ensure that when you call 911, the firefighters responding are trained, prepared, and capable of operating the equipment safely and effectively.

Thank you to all of our members and officers who dedicated their time today to training. Your commitment to excellence makes our department stronger and our community safer.

Pride Protecting Others.

Today at 3:56pm, FCVFD in our primary response area, was dispatched to a vehicle fire in the area of Sparger Road off Hwy 89.

FCVFD Engine 3 arrived onscene within 1 minute of dispatch and advised a working vehicle fire.
The vehicle was on the roadway and had the engine compartment fully involved with fire.
The vehicle fire was extinguished before any fire had extended to the grass or woods.

FCVFD responded with 5 volunteers along with 1 engine and 1 tanker.

Paid staff at the station aided in the quick on scene time for Engine 3.

Thankful for a great group of volunteers to serve this community.
