Parents and Students,

Ms. Liu and I are so proud of everything you have accomplished this marching season! You learned and retained so much new information in a short two months and became better musicians in the process! Our results at contest were fantastic considering the hardships we faced this last week. Over half of the band had never marched a day in their life two months ago, and one of you hadn’t marched a day in your life until two weeks ago! With two key students moving away last week, we had 5 days to teach three people new spots and get them ready for contest. A huge, huge thank you to Emmett, Sloane and your newest member, Carter!! You worked so hard and had to learn so much in an insanely small amount of time. It was a tremendous accomplishment! Another huge thank you to our amazing Squad Leaders, Kennedy, Livie. Lilli, Lauren, Camryn and Harry. These amazing people run this program behind the scenes and things would not operate smoothly without them.

The students all know that contest means very little to me. We don’t do this to for ratings or trophies. We do this because we enjoy making music, performing, entertaining our fans and most importantly supporting our Wildcat Football team! Which is what we will continue to do for the rest of our careers as Wildcat Band members! Go Cats!

And, we will definitely be inside during band on Monday!!

Mr. B and Ms. Liu

Parents and Students,

Reminder that we have rehearsal tomorrow (Monday, the 12th) from 6::00pm to 7:30pm, or till dark, whichever comes first! This rehearsal is crucial for us as we prepare for contest on Saturday. We have 3 spots that need to be filled in a very little amount of time, but I am confident our awesome kids are equal to the task!

Our football game is home versus Tenaha on Friday. Call time will be 5:00pm. Please review the UIL Schedule for Saturday, we have an early call at 7:00am!!

Go Cats!!!

Students and Parents,

We need to make a few changes to the schedule this weekend. We will NOT have a rehearsal on Friday. Call time for the game will be at 3:30pm at the band hall. We are going to try have a rehearsal on Monday from 6:00pm-7:30pm. We need this rehearsal badly, as students are going to be missing that week for various other activities, we’ve seen an uptick in recent absences and UIL is that Saturday! If this is an issue, please let us know asap! Thanks so much! Go Cats!

Parents and Students,

I apologize for getting the itinerary out for the game tomorrow so late, I was waiting to make sure the weather was going to cooperate! Call time tomorrow is 5:00pm and we are NOT providing dinner, so please eat before you arrive! Game should be done around 9:30pm and we will unload at the band hall. We haven’t decided on if we are going to wear full uniforms or not, so please be ready with your band t-shirt, black shorts and black socks. It’s going to be a great game, let’s bring it for our Cats!!!!

Parents and Students,

We definitely have an unusual week this week! Our football game is Thursday night in Cayuga. We will be leaving at 3:00pm. Students will be excused for 8th period. Cayuga is about an hour and a half from Mount, which is going to keep us out late on a school night. Unfortunately, this can’t be avoided and it is important to our team and fans that we do our job at the game! We are going to leave as soon as the game is over and head straight home. Getting us back between 11:00-11:30pm. I know this isn’t ideal, as it is a school night, but we do what we have to do! Having said that, attendance to school on Friday morning is absolutely mandatory!! We need to set an example for everyone that we can have a later night and still be at school and ready to learn the next day. If Mr. B’s old man body can get up and drive his early bus route that morning, the students should have no problem making it to school! I am so proud of the band’s performance last week, they played great at halftime and made a real impact in the game keeping the boys and the crowd hyped up! That is our number one job at these games and it is an important one! If this late night return causes an issue with transportation, please let us know and we will make arrangements to get you home if possible! See you tomorrow and Go Cats!
